What is OTT?  OTT is a term related to TV that stands for “Over the Top” and refers to any form of Television that is viewed outside of Linear, Cable, or Satellite TV.  OTT Includes:

  • Streaming Devices

  • Smart TV

  • Mobile App

  • Gaming Consoles

  • Web Browser

According to eMarketer, “It’s estimated that 254.2 million people in the US will watch OTT Video Services at least once per month in 2024. This accounts for 74.4% of the US population. While growth in OTT may be slow, penetration is at an all-time high—and it will only get higher. Advertising through an OTT service gives marketers a greater chance of having their ad seen.” (Source: OTT advertising: What it is and why streaming matters to marketers)

As consumers continue to “Cord Cut” from traditional Linear and Cable TV, OTT will continue to become increasingly important when it comes to Digital Marketing.
